Massillon Proud - 2012 on Field Reporter

It is almost August and the smell of football in Tiger Town is in the air.  Soon we all be gathering at the hallowed grounds of Paul Brown Tiger Stadium and examining the upcoming 2012 edition of the Massillon Tigers.  Fans old and new will converse of what should be done on offense and defense, whom should be playing at what position and most importantly how far will the Tigers make it in an expected run in the 2012 OHSAA Playoffs.

Many of you are aware that I embrace change and in 2012 I am going to take another step forward in keeping Massillon Proud the premier online destination for Real Time Massillon Tiger News and Information.

Massillon Proud is excited to announce the addition of our first Sports Reporter.  Massillon Proud will be well represented with game time stories, recaps and on field reporting of many events.  And most importantly Massillon Proud will do it in style by being the Best Dressed in the category of Sports Reporting.  Please take a moment to meet and congratulate our newest addition Mr. Keno Sultan.

Keno graduated from Mount Union College (University of Mount Union) in 2006 with a degree in media studies and a minor in sports management. Keno is also a 2001 graduate of Canton McKinley High School, where he was the sports editor for The Saxton for three years.

Keno most recently had been a writer for The Suburbanite for five years as a beat writer for Lake High School and covered part of Jackson High School as well.

He has been a sports reporter since 2004, when he had a two-year stint as the director of media relations for the defunct Massillon Bengals semi-pro football team. His tenure also included a two-year stint at Yappi.com as a writer and then with MassillonProud.com in 2005.

Keno's goals are to be recognized through out Stark County as a premier sportswriter with aspirations of ultimately writing for a major newspaper.

He will be writing feature stories, play-of-the-game, and commentaries.

His first assignment will be reporting on the Stark County Coaches Dinner at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church  Alex Karras Event Center August 9th.

Massillon Proud 2012 Donation Drive

Massillon Proud is conducting a fund drive during the entire 2012 Massillon Tiger football season (July 22 - January 1). Many of you have been around for a long period of time dating back to the beginning when Massillon Proud was RickOhio. Through the heart and dedication of those involved, Massillon Proud has evolved into THE premier location on the internet for real time Massillon Tiger athletics, academics and City of Massillon discussion.

Massillon Proud is and always will be a FREE site to visit and to join. However, Massillon Proud does not operate without costs. The 2012 Massillon Proud Fund Drive is geared towards deferring some of these costs as well as building the Massillon Proud Fund.  2012 will be particularly challenging because we have lost some previous advertisers/sponsors.  2012 will operate soley on one advertiser and user donations.  Please help me help Massillon Proud continue to grow and give back to the programs we love so much.

What is the Massillon Proud Fund?
The Massillon Proud Fund is a portion of the income generated from donations, advertising and sponsorship that will be used to GIVE BACK to the athletics, academics and extra-curricular activities associated with Massillon City Schools. All donations made from the Massillon Proud Fund will be made in the name of Massillon Proud so that the passionate members of our online community can share in the enjoyment of GIVING BACK. All donations that are made from the Massillon Proud Fund to Massillon City Schools will be displayed throughout Massillon Proud.

How can I help?
